Cyrus gives us principles:
- When the opponent has the pair of bishops, exchange one of them.
- Black’s king will be much safer with the removal of white’s best minor piece.
- White is likely to end up with a bishop who recalls slightly badly.
PUZZLE THREE
You are the creator
Black has two bishops against White’s bishop and knight, so Cyrus wants to find a way to make the bishops more active. The answer is simple and strong.

White has a good position, and he played 14.Rfd1, which is a perfectly correct move (White eventually won). BUT…there was another idea that was even better.
